Qualfy vs Rally

Rally is the operations layer for a research team: a panel built from your CRM or warehouse, screeners, incentives, observer rooms, and since August 2026 an agent that runs recruitment for you. Qualfy is built for the product manager who has no research team — the loop from a popup inside your product to an answer cited to the transcript, with nobody to hand off to.

The same question, asked of the same nine interviews

“Where do new users get stuck during onboarding?”

AI

Rally, read by an assistant

“Several participants described friction during onboarding, most often around getting their data in. Onboarding looks like a recurring pain point worth prioritizing.”An answer from the assistant, not from Rally. “Several” could be three or six; nothing in the chain checked.

Rally hands the assistant word-for-word transcripts and AI summaries through its MCP server, deliberately, and stops there. Analysis happens in the tool you point at it.

Q

Qualfy

3 of 9 interviews mention getting stuck during onboarding123. All three stalled at the data-import step, not at creating the account. The other six didn't raise onboarding at all.

1 · Ops manager · Mid-marketView in transcript · 8:42

Sign-up was fine. Then it wanted a CSV in a format I'd never seen, and I couldn't tell what it was asking for.

2 · Founder · SMBView in transcript · 12:05

I closed the tab at the import screen. Came back two days later when a teammate said you could skip it.

3 · Analyst · EnterpriseView in transcript · 21:17

The import page looked like it needed admin rights, so I pinged IT before I'd click anything.

A number you can put on a slide: three quotes, three timestamps, and six interviews that didn't say it.

About the Rally Agent

An agent that recruits from a list is only as good as the list

In August 2026 Rally launched Rally Agent, in its words “the world's first Research Ops Agent to end manual recruitment,” in beta. For a research-operations team the promise is real: the outreach, follow-up and booking that a coordinator did by hand, done by an agent. If you have a warehouse full of customers and a research team that needs them on a calendar, that is exactly the right tool.

But every participant it can find comes from a list you imported: a CSV, Salesforce, or Snowflake. The list knows who someone is. It doesn't know that they are in your new dashboard right now, stuck on the step you are trying to fix. The people who would be perfect for a study on a feature are the people using the feature, and an email to a list reaches them later, somewhere else, if it reaches them at all.

That's where Qualfy starts. A campaign targets a behavior — a page, an action, time in the product, a segment — and invites the user in the moment, screens them, and books them against the team's calendars. No coordinator, and no agent standing in for one, because the list was never the hard part.

Where each one starts

Rally starts from a list of your customers. Qualfy starts from the screen they're on.

Rally builds a panel by importing customer data from CSV, Salesforce or Snowflake, then reaches people by email. That's the right design for a research-ops team with a warehouse and a recruiter, and Rally covers every stage from there through the recording. What it doesn't do, by its own account, is the analysis: Rally's comparison pages say it integrates with Maze, UserTesting and Marvin for that rather than building it.

“Transcripts and summaries” is Rally's scope for analysis: a transcript split by speaker and an AI summary per interview, readable in Rally or pulled out through its MCP server. Searching across interviews and getting an answer with citations is left to the tools it integrates with.

Trust

Rally hands you the transcript. Qualfy hands you an answer, and publishes how often it's wrong.

We make no claim about Rally's accuracy — its AI summaries aren't something we can measure. We can measure ours, and these numbers are checked before every release; if one slips, the release doesn't ship. That includes the last one: a system that never invents an answer is tempted to refuse too often, so we measure that too.

Choose Rally when

  • You have a research-ops function running many researchers, with screeners, quotas and incentive budgets to manage.
  • Your participants live in Salesforce or Snowflake and you recruit by email at scale — or you want an agent to do it from Slack.
  • You already have an analysis tool and want Rally to feed it, rather than a second place to ask questions.

Choose Qualfy when

  • You want to recruit the user who is in the feature right now, not the one on a list.
  • You want a published price and a free plan, not a trial to request.
  • You want answers that cite the transcript or refuse, without adding an analysis tool to get them.

You can use both

Rally is honest that analysis happens elsewhere, and Qualfy accepts uploaded transcripts on every plan. If Rally is where your panel and your research ops live, run recruiting there and bring the transcripts here for cited answers. If Qualfy runs your interviews and you later need Rally's incentives and governance, recordings are downloadable on every plan.

Every Rally claim on this page was checked on September 15, 2026 against Rally's own plans page, help center, changelog, and comparison pages. Products change — if something here is out of date or unfair, tell us and we'll correct it.
